This was an exciting aircraft to build an interior in. The aircraft by itself is a rare bird. It is a Lancair IV P powered by a Garrett turbo prop that also has the new electro expulsive deicing system.
First we started with an completely empty interior. We then completed a realistic interior graphic design for the customer. Instead of installing the interior in the typical Lancair fashion with all the headliner and side upholstery glued to the inside of the fuselage, an inner shell liner was fabricated. The liner is completely removable and allows access to areas that would normally be covered.
Throttle, flap/gear handle and presurization vent trim plates were waterjet cut from mirror polished stainless steel. A door scuff plate was also fabricatd from the same material. All placarding was etched into the mirror finish. We also installed Rosen visors during the insterior installation. All design and fabrication was performed in house. All trim parts and finish details were also hand made by our staff.
The finished interior is a stunning example of what can be accomplished in the experimental aircraft catagory.
